There are some other things to do when it is raining in Cinque Terre and nearby. You could take the train to La Spezia and go shopping! In La Spezia there is a large indoor shopping centre called Le Terrazze. It has many shops and also a few nice bars and restaurants. You could also visit Museo Civico Amedeo LiaThis museum is located in a beautiful convent and has a fabulous collection of artworks, glassworks, bronzes and much more, a fantastic collection which was donated by Amedeo Lia who died recently. This collection of magnificent pieces dates back to 1620. There are also many other museums in La Spezia and a day out visiting these can be a great pastime on a rainy day in Cinque Terre. When purchasing a ticket for the museums it is possible to buy a day pass for 12 euros which will allow entry to into all of them.
Rainy day in Cinque Terre
Another activity for a rainy day in Cinque Terre is Wine tasting. The Cinque Terre Wine School in Monterosso holds lessons everyday and is open up until the 5th of November. They offer a comprehensive selection of red and white regional wines and teach how to food pair. A light lunch is served which is freshly prepared by their talented chefs. Cinque Terre in the Rain
When it is raining in Cinque Terre many people decide to take the train to some of the bigger cities such as Pisa or Genoa. There are intercity trains that arrive in about an hour. Another good idea is to check the weather as sometimes although rain is scheduled for Cinque Terre you may find that it is not as bad if you take the train to another city. Alternatively if you are unsure about what to do in Cinque Terre in the rain then you may decide to just buy a large umbrella and stay put. Go for a walk on the beach and have a delicious lunch in one if the restaurants near the sea under a canopy. A few glasses of wine and the rain never seems as bad
